Action to be taken against BoL Tv for leveling baseless allegation against JUI-F Chief: NA told


ISLAMABAD, Nov 29 (APP): Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Tuesday informed the National Assembly that action would be taken against BOL channel for leveling baseless allegations against the Jamiat-i-Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief.

Replying to a calling attention notice raised by Naeema Kishwer and others regarding baseless allegation leveled by Amir Liaqat, host of Programme “Aisa Naheen Chalay Ga” on Bol TV Channel against JUI-F leaders and Chief, the minister said that Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) had set up Council of Complaints to take action in such cases.

Tariq Fazal said television channels had been given warnings, fined and banned for certain duration on airing objectionable material about the political leadership of the country.

The minister said it was unfortunate that baseless allegations were leveled against political parties and leadership in talk shows, adding that sub-judice matters were also being discussed in these shows.
Tariq Fazal assured that a complaint in this regard has already been referred to the Council of Complaints.
